Michael Boyd

Michael A. Boyd is a Commercial Realtor with Independence Commercial Real Estate in Salado, TX, specializing in Landlord and Tenant Representation, Buyer/Seller Representation, and Site Selection. He holds numerous land listings across Bell County and serves as the sole Leasing Agent for One Killeen Center, a three-floor garden atrium professional office building.

Before entering real estate, Michael built a diverse career spanning 12 years as a Field Representative with the U.S. Census Bureau — where he was CDC-credentialed to conduct multiple national surveys — and a licensed electrician apprenticeship with defense contractor M.C. Dean, completing commercial electrical and HVAC controls work on major projects including Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Cavazos, the J.W. Marriott in Downtown Austin, and several central Texas schools.

Michael has a deep record of civic and community service. He co-founded the nonprofit Enlightenment Tour, Inc. while attending Central Texas College, and from 2015–2017 served as President of the North Central Texas Youth Federation, where he organized large-scale youth events and led a community service initiative that brought over 200 volunteers to the Killeen/Fort Cavazos area for health expos, clean-up efforts, food drives, and a benefit concert for the military community. In 2021, he was elected to the Killeen City Council, where he currently represents 40,000+ residents across west Killeen and serves on numerous public boards and commissions spanning auditing and economic development.

Michael also serves on the boards of the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra and Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Temple. Born in Germany on New Year's Day and a graduate of C.E. Ellison High School in Killeen, he is a believer in productivity and diversification. Michael and his wife Valerie are active members of their local Seventh-Day Adventist Church and enjoy family, travel, and planning together.
